When you acquire a bespoke software product from CIOS you are purchasing the right to use it forever. It will always be our intellectual property, however, which means that you would not be able to sell or give it to a 3rd party without our permission in writing.

To protect you in the event of anything happening to us we provide you with the source code of the development so that if you want you can have it maintained by a third party.

Financing your Development

With the above in mind it’s not difficult to understand why banks and leasing companies are not prepared to finance the acquisition of software and particularly bespoke software.

Although we believe that our prices are amongst the most reasonable in the industry we accept that funding software development from cash flow can be difficult, particularly in the midst of a recession.

This is particularly frustrating if you have identified potential saving or increased opportunity that would be addressed when your system went live.

There is a solution to this, and it’s provided by one of our partners who specialises in funding software projects. The software does not need to be included with hardware, generally there are no Directors’ personal guarantees required and £34 per month per £1000 financed is a good rule of thumb for the associated cost.

You would need to discuss this with your accountant, but taking corporation tax relief into account this can actually be cheaper than paying cash.
